{"id":1001,"date":"2011-01-24T20:16:51","date_gmt":"2011-01-25T02:16:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/?p=1001"},"modified":"2011-01-24T20:16:51","modified_gmt":"2011-01-25T02:16:51","slug":"pho-tastic-vietnamese-food-in-little-rock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/reviews\/pho-tastic-vietnamese-food-in-little-rock\/","title":{"rendered":"Pho-tastic Vietnamese Food in Little Rock"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>By Todd Barron @ FoodieCuisine.com<\/h4>\n<div id=\"attachment_1003\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/PhoSteakMeatballs.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1003\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1003\" title=\"PhoSteakMeatballs\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/PhoSteakMeatballs-300x179.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"179\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/PhoSteakMeatballs-300x179.jpg 300w, http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/PhoSteakMeatballs.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1003\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pho - Vietnamese Noodle Soup<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Pho Thanh My opened up recently off of Shackleford\u00a0by the Kroger.\u00a0 They replaced a gyro shop that opened and closed before I got a chance to visit\u00a0and I didn\u2019t want to let history repeat itself.\u00a0 I stopped by for lunch a\u00a0couple of\u00a0Fridays ago and have been looking\u00a0forward to each repeat visit.\u00a0 That\u2019s right, I\u2019ve been\u00a0back once already and plan on going back again this week!\u00a0 It\u2019s that good.<\/p>\n<p>They advertise as a Vietnamese Noodle restaurant and you won\u2019t go wrong by ordering exactly that.\u00a0 It\u2019s called Pho and consists of thin noodles at the bottom of a huge bowl covered in an aromatic broth.\u00a0 The broth has an amazing amount of flavor and the fresh basil they give you\u00a0adds a fragrant quality both in smell and flavor.\u00a0 The soup is\u00a0served with lime, jalapeno slices (fresh,) and fresh bean sprouts.\u00a0 Each item served with the soup adds flavor that I highly recommend.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For my visit I\u00a0ordered <strong>Pho with Steak and Brisket ($7.95)<\/strong>, also called Pho #4, and waited for it to be prepared.\u00a0 Pho is made by pouring the broth over the noodles but then adding raw meat to the soup.\u00a0 The heat of the broth cooks the meat before it makes its way to the table and the result is very tender meat with a depth of flavor that can\u2019t be had otherwise.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>My soup was outstanding and I didn\u2019t have to add anything to it for flavor.\u00a0 This was unusual as I find myself adding siracha, soy, or other condiments to my food at other Vietnamese places but I didn\u2019t have to at Pho Thanh My.\u00a0 It had the perfect blend of salt, acid (from the lime,) and heat from the fresh jalapeno slices.\u00a0 The only bad part of my meal came at the end when I was full and could eat no more.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve been back and had the <strong>Pho with Steak and Meatballs ($7.95)<\/strong> but don\u2019t recommend it as highly.\u00a0 The soup is just as good as the other one but I don\u2019t care for the meatballs.\u00a0 They are too dense and spongy for my liking.\u00a0 I will be back though and plan on going back this Friday for good old Pho #4.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">(501) 312-7498<br \/>\nLittle Rock<br \/>\n302 N Shackleford Rd<br \/>\nLittle Rock, AR 72211<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/r\/200\/1566461\/restaurant\/Pho-Thanh-My-Little-Rock\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 200px;
