Breakfast of Champions"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>By Todd Barron @ FoodieCuisine.com<\/h4>\n<div id=\"attachment_1074\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/wafflehouse_waffles.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1074\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1074\" title=\"wafflehouse_waffles\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/wafflehouse_waffles-300x179.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"179\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/wafflehouse_waffles-300x179.jpg 300w, http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/wafflehouse_waffles.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1074\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Waffles<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Every foodie has them, food items they like,\u00a0that they know they are not exactly foodie worthy.\u00a0 In my case, I like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wafflehouse.com\/\">Waffle House<\/a>.\u00a0 Sure, their food is\u00a0simple with menu items like pancakes, hash-browns, patty melts, eggs, bacon, etc.\u00a0 And when I say bacon, no, I did not say pork bellies, shaved paper thin, and browned to perfection, although that would be the same thing.\u00a0 In the world of simple food, Waffle House gets the job done, well\u00a0and they do it cheaply.<\/p>\n<p>It may be simple, yes, but it\u2019s free of strange additives, with names you cannot pronounce, and they use seemingly fresh ingredients.\u00a0 You can see the eggs, the bacon, and the other ingredients they use,\u00a0as they cook right in front of you.\u00a0 Not only are the ingredients simple, and fresh, but they come together well, and result in simply good food.\u00a0 Walk in with no expectation of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Haute_cuisine\">Haute Cuisine<\/a>, and you will leave a satisfied customer, without an empty bank account.<\/p>\n<p>The other day I met a friend of mine there for breakfast, and had their motor oil coffee (it is really strong), along with hash-browns, a waffle, and a side of bacon.\u00a0 You order the hash-browns with cute code names, such as scattered (spread out), smothered (onions), covered (cheese), peppered (jalapenos), and diced (ham).\u00a0 You can also order\u00a0a double, or even a triple serving, and can make a meal out of the hash-browns alone.\u00a0 They are prepared, on the open grill, cooked in butter along with the ingredients you specify, and come out crispy on top, with a nice bite in the middle, and soft on the bottom.\u00a0 They are perfectly good with a little ketchup on top and my entire family loves them.<\/p>\n<p>You order waffles, either normal with nothing done to them, or you can have a double order.\u00a0 They used to have blueberry waffles, but I didn\u2019t see them on the menu this time around.\u00a0 The waffles are cooked\u00a0perfectly, not too tough, and not too soft, but just right.\u00a0 They taste great with the provided butter, spread on top, and the house syrup.<\/p>\n<p>The coffee is great, I always look forward to it, and the side of bacon hit the spot.\u00a0 It was grilled well, and just crispy enough, without being overdone.\u00a0 The waitstaff and cooks at Waffle House are always very friendly, and the service is impeccable.\u00a0 They rarely leave your sight, as the kitchen is right in front of you, and\u00a0it contributes to the friendly atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/r\/200\/1035362\/restaurant\/Little-Rock\/Waffle-House-Maumelle\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none;
