{"id":1124,"date":"2011-05-13T15:43:19","date_gmt":"2011-05-13T20:43:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/?p=1124"},"modified":"2011-05-13T15:43:19","modified_gmt":"2011-05-13T20:43:19","slug":"kentucky-fried-chicken","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/reviews\/kentucky-fried-chicken\/","title":{"rendered":"Kentucky Fried Chicken"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>By Todd Barron @ FoodieCuisine.com<\/h4>\n<div id=\"attachment_1141\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/kfc.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1141\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1141\" title=\"kfc\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/kfc-300x179.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"179\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/kfc-300x179.jpg 300w, http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/kfc.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1141\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Kentucky Fried Chicken Tenders<\/p><\/div>\n<p>On the way back from visiting a client the other day, the group I was with was hungry and wanted to stop for a quick dinner.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kfc.com\/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=KFC&utm_term={keyword}\">Kentucky Fried Chicken<\/a> was not my first choice given my long-standing desire to eat healthy food, but was one of only a few choices (including Taco Bell.)\u00a0\u00a0I have not had KFC in a couple of years but gave it a try.<\/p>\n<p>I tried to order the Grilled Chicken, which was advertised on banners in the restaurant, but was promptly told they don\u2019t sell grilled chicken.\u00a0 They proceeded to tell me how even though it was on the banners, and outdoor ads, it was not something carried by this particular store.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know if it was the suit I was wearing, or what, but a patron proceeded to tell me how \u201cIn Arkansas, everything is fried.\u201d\u00a0 I\u00a0disagree with this statement by the way, but didn\u2019t counter the claim at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Given the small roadblock, I went ahead and ordered the fried chicken tenders, with a biscuit, mashed potatoes, and a diet Coke.\u00a0 I know\u00a0the Diet Coke won\u2019t save the diet, but figured there was no need to add\u00a0a few hundred calories to the train wreck.<\/p>\n<p>They had to fry the chicken tenders, as they were out for some reason, so I waited for about 15 minutes.\u00a0 The food came out, hot as expected, and actually looked pretty good given what I ordered.\u00a0 The mashed potatoes were smooth with a tasty gravy, and the biscuit was a little dry, but went well with the potatoes.\u00a0 I like KFC\u2019s batter as the chicken was very crispy and had a nice spicy flavor to it.\u00a0 The tenders were moist and hot, and were made of all white meat.\u00a0 One tender had too much tendon and gristle in it, but the rest were just right.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, my tenders were good and I enjoyed the sides.\u00a0 If you are looking for fast food style fried chicken, Kentucky Fried Chicken is hard to beat.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/r\/200\/1034722\/restaurant\/KFC-Little-Rock\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none;
