{"id":1152,"date":"2011-05-23T12:05:45","date_gmt":"2011-05-23T17:05:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/?p=1152"},"modified":"2011-05-23T12:05:45","modified_gmt":"2011-05-23T17:05:45","slug":"thomas-bagel-thins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/tips-and-tricks\/thomas-bagel-thins\/","title":{"rendered":"Thomas&#8217; Bagel Thins"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>By Todd Barron @ FoodieCuisine.com<\/h4>\n<div id=\"attachment_1153\" style=\"width: 280px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Thomas_Bagels_Cinnamon.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1153\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1153\" title=\"Thomas_Bagels_Cinnamon\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Thomas_Bagels_Cinnamon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"270\" height=\"270\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Thomas_Bagels_Cinnamon.png 270w, http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Thomas_Bagels_Cinnamon-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 270px) 100vw, 270px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1153\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Thomas Bagel Thins<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I really enjoy bagels but they are typically high in calories.\u00a0 This fact prevents me from enjoying often, but <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thomasenglishmuffins.com\/About-Thomas\/\">Thomas<\/a> has a new product called Bagel Thins that allow me to indulge without the guilt.\u00a0 I found some at the local Kroger Grocery Store and bought a package.<\/p>\n<p>The first thing I noticed is how thin they are.\u00a0 Sure, they are called \u201cBagel Thins\u201d after all, but they are really thin when compared to your standard heavy bagel.\u00a0 Due to the size they have less spring to them as well and the texture is a little strange for a bagel.<\/p>\n<p>I made an egg sandwich with my first bagel using the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 Thomas Thin Bagel<\/li>\n<li>1 Egg<\/li>\n<li>1 Wedge of Weight Watcher\u2019s Swiss Cheese Spread<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>First off, I cooked the egg in a non-stick skillet for about\u00a03 minutes until it was done.\u00a0 I then\u00a0toasted the bagel on the (2) setting in my toaster and spread the cheese on it.\u00a0 I then added the egg to the bagel and had at it.<\/p>\n<p>The bagel, although thin, held up well to the egg and cheese and most importantly, had a good\u00a0flavor.\u00a0\u00a0After the\u00a0meal, I was\u00a0satisfied and didn\u2019t have\u00a0to worry about the calorie content.\u00a0 In the future I\u2019m going to be using the product more often as it holds up better than sliced bread, and only has 110 calories for each bagel.<\/p>\n<p>If you are following the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.weightwatchers.com\">Weight Watchers<\/a> Points Plus program, they count for 3 points per bagel.\u00a0 If not, it breaks down to 110 calories, 1g fat, 25g carbs, and 4g of fiber per bagel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Todd Barron @ FoodieCuisine.com I really enjoy bagels but they are typically high in calories.\u00a0 This fact prevents me from enjoying often, but Thomas has a new product called Bagel Thins that allow me to indulge without the guilt.\u00a0 I found some at the local Kroger Grocery Store and bought a package.
