{"id":1160,"date":"2011-07-08T14:09:36","date_gmt":"2011-07-08T19:09:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/?p=1160"},"modified":"2011-07-08T14:09:36","modified_gmt":"2011-07-08T19:09:36","slug":"mikes-city-diner-in-boston","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/reviews\/mikes-city-diner-in-boston\/","title":{"rendered":"Mike&#8217;s City Diner in Boston"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>By Todd Barron @ FoodieCuisine.com<\/h4>\n<div id=\"attachment_1325\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/mikes_place_eggs.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1325\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1325\" title=\"mikes_place_eggs\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/mikes_place_eggs-300x179.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"179\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/mikes_place_eggs-300x179.jpg 300w, http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/mikes_place_eggs.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1325\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hash, Eggs, and Grits<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I am an avid viewer of Guy Fieri\u2019s show, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodnetwork.com\/shows\/guys-diners-drive-ins-and-dives\/index.html\">Diners Drive-Ins & Dives<\/a>, and had the chance to stop at one of his destinations while in Boston a few weeks ago.\u00a0 My wife and I took a cab to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mikescitydiner.com\/\">Mike\u2019s City Diner<\/a> to have a quick\u00a0 breakfast and were not disappointed.<\/p>\n<p>Mike\u2019s City Diner is known for their turkey platters, complete with the sides you expect on Thanksgiving, but we were there for breakfast.\u00a0 Given this, I opted for the <strong>Corned Beef Hash and Eggs ($7.50)<\/strong> and my wife had the sausage and eggs.<\/p>\n<p>Our food came out quickly and looked like typical breakfast fare.\u00a0 Me corned beef hash had a good texture to it and was not mushy.\u00a0 It was seasoned well with just the right amount of salt.\u00a0 I had to add butter and sugar to my grits for flavor, but it was to be expected and worked out fine.\u00a0 The eggs, scrambled, were cooked perfectly and also had plenty of flavor.<\/p>\n<p>Overall I was very happy with my food.\u00a0 I cannot see taking the cab ride back to Mike\u2019s in the future, as it was far out of the way, but it was enjoyable.\u00a0 If I am in the area in the future I do want to try out the turkey.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/r\/4\/53067\/restaurant\/South-End\/Mikes-City-Diner-Boston\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none;
