{"id":1460,"date":"2011-09-08T10:04:05","date_gmt":"2011-09-08T15:04:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/?p=1460"},"modified":"2012-02-01T07:52:32","modified_gmt":"2012-02-01T13:52:32","slug":"thin-and-crispy-at-u-s-pizza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/italian-cuisine\/thin-and-crispy-at-u-s-pizza\/","title":{"rendered":"Thin and Crispy at U.S. Pizza"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>By Todd Barron @ FoodieCuisine.com<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.uspizzaco.net\/content\/Since1972.html\">U.S. Pizza company<\/a> has been in Arkansas since 1972 when Judy Waller opened their first store in Levy.\u00a0 They serve huge chefs salads, sandwiches, and of course, pizza.\u00a0 The pizza has a thin crust and is made \u201cAmerican\u201d style with a lot of toppings, cheese, and a medium amount of sauce.\u00a0 The sauce has plenty of herbs in it and is much better than the style you find at chain restaurants.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1463\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/us_pizza_inside.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1463\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1463\" title=\"us_pizza_inside\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/us_pizza_inside-300x179.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"179\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/us_pizza_inside-300x179.jpg 300w, http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/us_pizza_inside.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1463\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Inside U.S. Pizza, Levy<\/p><\/div>\n<p>U.S. Pizza has had its ups and downs in the restaurant world around Arkansas, with some stores serving outstanding food (Levy) while others have suffered from poor customer service (Maumelle.)\u00a0 Such is to be expected when you run a multi-restaurant business though and luckily, the one I\u00a0go to the most, also is the best (the Levy location.)<\/p>\n<p>The Levy location has a single large room to sit in with many tables to choose from, seating anywhere from two people to a dozen or more (if you combine tables.)\u00a0 They have a large hand-painted mural on the wall which is fun to look at and matches the decorations well.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Chefs Salads<\/strong> are huge, and by huge, I mean really really big.\u00a0 They are based on chopped ice-cold lettuce, with mounds of cheese, meat, mushrooms, and vegetables on top.\u00a0 I have tried to recreate them at home but they never turn out quite the same.\u00a0 If you are looking for a good salad, I suggest giving the turkey or ham salad a try.\u00a0 Be prepared to share it with someone if you are not making a meal of it.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1469\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/uspizza_supreme1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1469\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1469\" title=\"spreme pizza\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/uspizza_supreme1-300x126.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"126\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/uspizza_supreme1-300x126.jpg 300w, http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/uspizza_supreme1.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1469\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Supreme Pizza<\/p><\/div>\n<p>For this visit I ordered a <strong>Supreme Pizza<\/strong> with the addition of green olives.\u00a0 The supreme comes with beef, sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, cheese, and sauce.\u00a0 I like the saltiness of the green olives and always order them along with the base topings.\u00a0 The pizza takes time to cook since its fresh but the wait was worth the results.<\/p>\n<p>My pizza was large enough for a few people, had a lot of toppings, and not too much sauce.\u00a0 I let it cool for a few minutes and dug in.\u00a0 Each slice has the full range of toppings and the sauce is spicy, yet not too hot.\u00a0 Everything is in perfect proportion for an American style pizza and I am not disappointed in the least.<\/p>\n<p>I recommend trying out the Levy location of U.S. Pizza if you want a large salad or thin crust pizza.\u00a0 You will be glad you did.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/r\/200\/1035357\/restaurant\/Little-Rock\/N-Little-Rock\/U-S-Pizza-Co-North-Little-Rock\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none;
