{"id":1833,"date":"2012-03-12T10:18:58","date_gmt":"2012-03-12T15:18:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/?p=1833"},"modified":"2012-03-12T10:23:57","modified_gmt":"2012-03-12T15:23:57","slug":"graffitis-italian-in-little-rock-arkansas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/italian-cuisine\/graffitis-italian-in-little-rock-arkansas\/","title":{"rendered":"Graffitis Italian in Little Rock, Arkansas"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>By Todd Barron @ FoodieCuisine.com<\/h4>\n<div id=\"attachment_1845\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/graffitis_scallops.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1845\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1845\" title=\"Fettuccine with Seafood\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/graffitis_scallops-300x245.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"245\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/graffitis_scallops-300x245.jpg 300w, http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/graffitis_scallops.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1845\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fettuccine with Seafood<\/p><\/div>\n<p>It\u2019s late and the Sushi Cafe has an hour wait.\u00a0 We drive back towards I-430 and stop along the way at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.littlerockgraffitis.net\/1\/Home\/Menu.aspx\">Graffitis Italian<\/a> in Little Rock, Arkansas.\u00a0 Graffitis Italian has been around for many years and it has been about 20 years since I visited.\u00a0 We do not have reservations but are seated immediately upon arrival.\u00a0 The place is decently busy given the time of night and has\u00a0a dark, comforting feel to it.<\/p>\n<p>My wife\u00a0and I\u00a0order the <strong>Escargot Appetizer<\/strong> and the <strong>Meatball Appetizer<\/strong> to get things started.\u00a0 While we wait on appetizers we order the Pasta Special and the <strong>Fettuccine with Seafood<\/strong> for dinner.\u00a0 We are sure to receive too much food but who says we have to eat it all.\u00a0 That is what they have to-go boxes for right?<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0escargot arrives and is based in a creamy red sauce.\u00a0 I\u2019m quite surprised as I expected escargot in a garlic-butter sauce but it looks good nonetheless.\u00a0 Sure enough, it is tender, cooked well, and has\u00a0a\u00a0good flavor to it.\u00a0 I prefer the\u00a0garlic-butter variety of the dish but find this one interesting and worthwhile.<\/p>\n<p>The meatballs arrive at the same time as the escargot and are tasty but very\u00a0salty.\u00a0 I enjoy the red sauce they are covered in but cannot get\u00a0past the overbearing saltiness.\u00a0 Although I enjoy them, the appetizer\u00a0dooms my palette for\u00a0my entree.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Fettuccine with Seafood <\/strong> arrives, along with the pasta special, and is\u00a0stacked with several large scallops.\u00a0 I ordered\u00a0extra scallops instead of shrimp\u00a0and the kitchen delivered!\u00a0 The fettuccine is cooked\u00a0properly,\u00a0with just enough bite to it and not\u00a0mushy.\u00a0 The scallops on the other hand are huge, but\u00a0are not seared at all.\u00a0 They also lack any flavor.\u00a0 In fact,\u00a0I can\u00a0barely taste anything in the dish.\u00a0 I am not sure if the salt from the meatballs\u00a0overpowered my palette or what, but I end up adding copious amounts of\u00a0salt and pepper to\u00a0my food.\u00a0 It is unfortunate, as there is a ton of seafood in the pasta, but it has no seasoning.\u00a0 I wish I could pan-fry some scallops in the kitchen to show them what they are doing wrong, but that is not my job.\u00a0 I eat a few bites and take the rest to-go.<\/p>\n<p>Although the Fettuccine with Seafood was flavorless,\u00a0I did enjoy the experience.\u00a0 I just won\u2019t\u00a0order meatballs again, or the seafood fettuccine.\u00a0 Next time I may try the lasagna.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/r\/200\/1034662\/restaurant\/Graffitis-Italian-Restaurant-Little-Rock\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none;
