{"id":2058,"date":"2012-07-26T05:00:57","date_gmt":"2012-07-26T10:00:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/?p=2058"},"modified":"2012-07-23T10:33:13","modified_gmt":"2012-07-23T15:33:13","slug":"homemade-peanut-butter-cup-ice-cream","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/american-cuisine\/homemade-peanut-butter-cup-ice-cream\/","title":{"rendered":"Homemade Peanut-Butter Cup Ice Cream"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>By Todd Barron @ FoodieCuisine.com<\/h4>\n<div id=\"attachment_2060\" style=\"width: 235px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/cuisinart_ice_cream_maker1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2060\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2060\" title=\"cuisinart_ice_cream_maker\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/cuisinart_ice_cream_maker1-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/cuisinart_ice_cream_maker1-225x300.jpg 225w, http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/cuisinart_ice_cream_maker1-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2060\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cuisinart Ice-Cream Maker<\/p><\/div>\n<p>My latest kitchen toy is a Cuisinart Ice-Cream maker. \u00a0It consists of a internal canister, which you place in your freezer for 24-hours prior to making the ice-cream, and an outer shell which houses the motor to spin the mixing paddle.<\/p>\n<p>To make the ice-cream you freeze the internal canister for 24+ hours, mix the ingredients in an external mixer, pour into the canister, assemble the machine, and push the start button.<\/p>\n<p>In 25 minutes you can add extra items to the ice-cream, such as chopped up candy or chocolate chips, and 5 minutes later you are done. \u00a0At this point you transfer the now-finished ice-cream to a new container and freeze for 2 hours.<\/p>\n<p>You do not have to freeze it for 2 hours before eating it, but it will be less solid if you do not wait. \u00a0For my test I make a peanut-butter ice-cream with pieces of peanut-butter cup candy in it. \u00a0The recipe is as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Peanut Butter Cup Ice-Cream<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup Peanut Butter<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 cup sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 cup whole milk<\/li>\n<li>2 cups heavy whipping cream<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon coconut extract<\/li>\n<li>10 small peanut butter cup candies, chopped<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preparation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mix the peanut butter and sugar in a stand-mixer for 10 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Mix in the whole milk for 5 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Mix in the heavy whipping cream for 10 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Mix in the extracts for 2 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Place into the ice-cream machine (be sure the canister has been cooled for 24 hours)<\/li>\n<li>Turn on for 25 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Add the chopped candies<\/li>\n<li>Run the machine for another 3 minutes, or until the candy is fully incorporated<\/li>\n<li>Remove from canister and store in freezer, covered for 2 hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The ice-cream turned out wonderful and I cannot wait to make more flavors. \u00a0It is soooo much better than anything I have bought from a grocery store!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2061\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/peanut_butter_ice_cream1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2061\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2061\" title=\"peanut_butter_ice_cream\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/peanut_butter_ice_cream1-300x188.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"188\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/peanut_butter_ice_cream1-300x188.jpg 300w, http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/peanut_butter_ice_cream1-1024x642.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2061\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Peanut Butter Cup Ice-Cream<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Todd Barron @ FoodieCuisine.com My latest kitchen toy is a Cuisinart Ice-Cream maker. \u00a0It consists of a internal canister, which you place in your freezer for 24-hours prior to making the ice-cream, and an outer shell which houses the motor to spin the mixing paddle.
