{"id":2188,"date":"2012-10-02T09:31:12","date_gmt":"2012-10-02T14:31:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/?p=2188"},"modified":"2012-10-02T09:31:31","modified_gmt":"2012-10-02T14:31:31","slug":"taj-mahal-in-little-rock-arkansas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/reviews\/taj-mahal-in-little-rock-arkansas\/","title":{"rendered":"Taj Mahal in Little Rock Arkansas"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>By Todd Barron @ FoodieCuisine.com<\/h4>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2199\" style=\"width: 562px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Taj_Mahal_Buffet.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2199\" class=\" wp-image-2199\" title=\"Taj_Mahal_Buffet\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Taj_Mahal_Buffet-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"552\" height=\"399\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2199\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Taj Mahal Buffet<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The buffet hearkens to me, reaching deep into my soul with it\u2019s siren call of indulgence and near-limitless food.\u00a0 There it is, in all it\u2019s glory with multiple steam-trays filled with tasty goodness.\u00a0 Chicken, beef, shrimp, rice, and even dessert beckon me!\u00a0 Alas, I broke the shackles of heft several years ago and posses self control now.\u00a0 Still, it is hard to resist the song, how sweet it is.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tajmahalar.com\/index.php\">Taj Mahal<\/a> in Little Rock offers up a Indian Buffet for lunch\u00a0in Little Rock and brings to the proverbial table the usual fare of Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, Chicken Curry, Vegetable Korma, and other American-Indian favorites.\u00a0 They also serve dinner but I have yet to try it.<\/p>\n<p>The buffet is well stocked with warm food and looks appetizing.\u00a0 I scoop up a small portion of the various offerings and covet my bounty back to the table.\u00a0 The Chicken Curry is very flavorful, with a silky texture, and has deep Indian spices.<\/p>\n<p>The Chicken Tikka Masala tastes better at Star of India but has the usual flavors you would expect from the red chicken.\u00a0 It has a tad too much vinegar but works.\u00a0 The Saag Paneer must be from a can, from a chest which has been lost in the desert for twenty years, because the cheese tastes of plastic and the spinach is inedible.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know what they did to make it, but they need to burn the recipe and never unearth it again.\u00a0 I think a firing squad is in order.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The Naan, or bread for those non-Indian diners out there, looks pleasant with a billowy appearance.\u00a0 Unfortunately it tastes too much of flour.\u00a0 It looks great but does not deliver in the flavor department.\u00a0 The Kheer, or rice pudding, has bits of pistachio in it and is sweet yet not too sweet.\u00a0 I really like it for the end of meal dessert.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Lunch :\u00a0 11 am-2.30 pm<br \/>\nDinner :\u00a0 5 pm-10 pm<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/r\/200\/1538263\/restaurant\/Taj-Mahal-Indian-Mediterranean-Cuisine-Little-Rock\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none;
