{"id":734,"date":"2010-10-02T14:35:32","date_gmt":"2010-10-02T19:35:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/?p=734"},"modified":"2010-10-03T15:25:24","modified_gmt":"2010-10-03T20:25:24","slug":"sashimi-best-hibachi-in-arkansas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/general\/sashimi-best-hibachi-in-arkansas\/","title":{"rendered":"Sashimi &#8211; Best Teppanyaki in Arkansas"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>By Todd Barron @ FoodieCuisine.com<\/h3>\n<div id=\"attachment_735\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/sashimi_volcano_roll.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-735\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-735\" title=\"Volcano Roll\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/sashimi_volcano_roll-300x221.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"221\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/sashimi_volcano_roll-300x221.jpg 300w, http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/sashimi_volcano_roll.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-735\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Volcano Roll<\/p><\/div>\n<p>There are not many restaurants in Maumelle, but Sashimi is one of them and it also happens to be the best\u00a0Teppanyaki (also known as Hibachi)\u00a0place in Arkansas.\u00a0 A person\u00a0can only be so lucky!<\/p>\n<p>Sashimi opened in Maumelle a few years ago (I forget the exact date) and has been serving Teppanyaki style food and sushi every since.\u00a0 They are on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Sashimi\/61615549874#!\/pages\/Maumelle-AR\/Sashimi-Japanese-Steakhouse\/146245607947?ref=ts\">Facebook<\/a>and the restaurant is owned by Tommy and Holly Kattaviravong.<\/p>\n<p>My wife and I visit Sashimi about twice per week and order different items from the menu.\u00a0 One of the reasons I frequent the place is because Sushi, Edamame, and grilled calamari are all low in calories and fat.\u00a0 I can eat a nice meal there and never gain a pound from it!\u00a0 That is saying a lot as most restaurants add to your waistline.<\/p>\n<p>If you have never been to a Teppanyaki restaurant, you sit around a large griddle and watch the chef cook your food for you.\u00a0 You start with a soup and salad and then watch the show.\u00a0 They begin by cooking fried rice and vegetables and then move on to cook the fish, chicken, and beef.\u00a0 The whole show takes about 15 minutes and is entertaining to watch, especially for any kids in your group.<\/p>\n<p>Sashimi has beef, filet, fish, scallops, shrimp, calamari, and other items for sale to be cooked Teppanyaki style.\u00a0 You can also order straight to a side table or the bar (where we eat almost every time) and bypass the show if you want.\u00a0 They have a large sushi bar where you can watch the sushi chefs prepare their creations as well and it has plenty of seats.<\/p>\n<p>It didn\u2019t used to be on the menu but my favorite thing there is grilled calamari.\u00a0 They cut large calamari steaks into cubes after it is grilled and it tastes wonderful.\u00a0 I order it with a side of edamame (soy beans,) and usually order a volcano roll to split with my wife.\u00a0 The volcano roll changes in the type of fish used but is my favorite when they use salmon.\u00a0 All of the sushi looks and tastes wonderful so be prepared to spend several trips trying out different rolls.<\/p>\n<p>I suggest you give the following rolls a try to start out: Maumelle Roll, Volcano Roll, Louisiana Roll (spicy), Superman Roll, and\u00a0Valentines Roll.\u00a0 There are many more and I will write down the names for my next blog about them.<\/p>\n<p>All in all I have zero complaints about Sashimi and vote my opinion with repeat visits.\u00a0 Give them a try.\u00a0 If you live in a city near\u00a0Maumelle they are worth the drive!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Sashimi Japanese Steakhouse<\/strong><br \/>\n(501) 851-4700<br \/>\n1900 Club Manor<br \/>\nMaumelle, AR 72113<br \/>\nMonday \u2013 Sunday Lunch and Dinner<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/r\/200\/1414281\/restaurant\/Little-Rock\/Sashimi-Japanese-Steakhouse-Maumelle\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 200px; height: 146px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/b\/link\/1414281\/biglink.gif\" alt=\"Sashimi Japanese Steakhouse on Urbanspoon\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Todd Barron @ FoodieCuisine.com There are not many restaurants in Maumelle, but Sashimi is one of them and it also happens to be the best\u00a0Teppanyaki (also known as Hibachi)\u00a0place in Arkansas.\u00a0 A person\u00a0can only be so lucky!
