class=\"wp-caption-text\">Grilled Calamari<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Ever since I lost a lot of weight a year ago, I\u2019ve kept it off by eating healthy during the work week.\u00a0 One of my favorite things to eat is Grilled Calamari.\u00a0 Fortunately for me, <a href=\"http:\/\/foodiecuisine.com\/wordpress\/general\/sashimi-best-hibachi-in-arkansas\/\">Sashimi<\/a>, a local restaurant in town, has it and does a great job of fulfilling my need of it at least once a week.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday it was too cold to get out for dinner so I decided to grill some calamari of my own.\u00a0 It was a bit too spicy for my wife\u2019s liking but I enjoyed it quite a bit.\u00a0 Next time I\u2019ll hold back on the chili sauce. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Ingredients (Feeds Two people):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 Calamari steaks<\/li>\n<li>1 Teaspoon Chili Oil<\/li>\n<li>1 Tablespoon Chili Paste<\/li>\n<li>1 Teaspoon Soy Sauce<\/li>\n<li>1 Tablespoon Butter<\/li>\n<li>1 Green Onion<\/li>\n<li>1 Fresno Pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Finely dice the onions and the pepper.\u00a0 Thaw the calamari steaks if they are frozen.\u00a0 Dry them off completely once thawed.\u00a0 If they are wet they will not sear properly as you will spend more time evaporating water than cooking the protein.<\/p>\n<p>Heat your <a style=\"border: none;\" href=\"<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B002LFTTUO?ie=UTF8&tag=lostlogicinc&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002LFTTUO\">All Clad Electric Griddle<\/a><img decoding=\"async\" src=\">griddle<\/a> to 350 degrees.\u00a0 Put the butter and oil on the griddle and wait until the butter just starts to brown.\u00a0 This may take 30 seconds or so.<\/p>\n<p>Place the calamari steaks on the grill for 5 minutes OR until they are browned around the edges on the bottom.\u00a0 I say \u201cor\u201d here because the size of the steaks will alter how long they need to cook.\u00a0 Once browned, flip over and let grill for 3 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Keep the griddle on.\u00a0 Remove the steaks to a cutting board and dice (see the picture for the size.)\u00a0 Each piece should be eaten in one bite once the steaks are cut.\u00a0 Once cut, put back on the griddle.<\/p>\n<p>Mix in the chili paste and\u00a0soy sauce and toss the calamari pieces.\u00a0 Continue tossing the calamari every 10 seconds for the next two minutes.\u00a0 Remove from the griddle and top with the green onion and Fresno pepper.<\/p>\n<p>I served it with jasmine rice, wasabi\/soy, and a peanut sauce.\u00a0 The peanut sauce is from a pre-mixed bottle of Thai Peanut Dipping sauce and the wasabi sauce was made by mixing soy sauce with wasabi
